Coincidence?

Written by

Your old mate notes that former Environmental Protection Agency chief scientist and Rural News columnist Dr Jacqueline Rowarth has recently ‘left’ the EPA.

Before her EPA role, Rowarth was an unabashed rural advocate – using scientific argument to back her promotion of the agri-sector. Rowarth especially earned the ire of these enviro-fundies when she took on the patron saint himself, the self-proclaimed freshwater expert Mike Joy, contesting his claims about farming’s impact on water quality. This led to calls last year from the Green Party and their supporters for Rowarth to be sacked from the EPA. Now, some months later – and with the Greens helping prop up Jacinda and Winston’s government – Rowarth’s appointment to the EPA has ended.
