All set to go!

IN A bid to attract young farmers to ploughing, the Waikato Ploughing Match Association is staging a fun-filled ploughing instruction day for YFC members over the age of 15.
Tractors and ploughs will be provided and instructors/coaches will guide the newcomers. And it’s all free.
Wear suitable gear, bring your lunch and be sure you know the basics of tractor driving, the association says.
Two notable instructors will be Malcolm Taylor, a New Zealand reversible ploughing champion, and John Guy, a New Zealand finalist with a conventional plough.
The aim is information and fun. All participants will get better understanding of basic ploughing skills and what makes a good seedbed. Plots will be judged throughout the day and prizes awarded.
Conventional and reversible ploughs will be used for instruction and display. The event will be filmed for showing on CountryTV.
Time and venue: 10am-2pm, Saturday November 2, at Hamilton. A social time and prizegiving will start at 2.30pm.
Entries close September 15.
