Eruption impact minimal so far

Written by

The Mt Tongariro eruption has had minimal impact on farm pasture or stock drinking water, says Federated Farmers.

Four farms have been contacted in different geographical parts of the Hawke's Bay and they are yet to report ash, says a statement by Adverse Events spokesperson, Katie Milne.

This includes one on the Taupo-Napier Highway.

"While we are waiting on reports from our Ruapehu province, GNS' predicted ashfall indicates it will largely fall on National Park or forested areas," the statement says.
