At least 11 cows died and 15 were missing after they wandered onto train tracks and were hit by a southbound train near Peterborough, northwest of Cambridge. Among the disrupted travellers were many Arsenal fans on the northwards line, who were unable to make it to their team’s clash with Burnley. Tim Stillman tweeted, “Our train’s turning back to London. First game I’m missing in nearly 15 years and it’s cos a train hit a cow.” On the bright side, Arsenal beat Burnley 1-0.
A bizarre passenger train crash into a herd of cows sparked mayhem for travellers in England, leaving a gory trail of dead livestock, with many cows unaccounted for.
