Celebrity welfare

Written by  Milking It

Wannabe kiwi James Cameron is back in the country, under a special visa, to continue filming his movie during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The production is subsidised by the New Zealand Government and probably from taxes generated by the livestock industry.

Yet the Canadian vegan and movie mogul James Cameron wants an end to NZ livestock farming because he does not approve.

The Camerons have turned two large dairy farms in the Wairarapa over to organic vegetables, as well as hemp, linseed and rye corn.

One columnist noted last week that the Government has spent more money on Avatar (a film about a fake indigenous culture) than it spends each year on Māori television production (distributed via Te Māngai Pāho). That doesn’t seem right.
