Key was a great supporter to dairy

Written by
John Wilson. John Wilson.

Fonterra chairman John Wilson says former PM John Key was a great supporter and advocate of the dairy industry.

Speaking at Fonterra’s annual meeting last week, Wilson said he had the pleasure of joining Key on trade missions over the years.

“He has been a great supporter and advocate of dairy within New Zealand and globally.

“He had deep understanding of our co-op, and an inquisitive mind.”

Wilson says it’s important Fonterra works closely with the new prime minister.

“We have to ensure our trade strategy adapts to a changing global environment that has seen significant political change.”
