"What's for dinner?" may sound like a simple question, but for many Kiwi parents, answering it has become a job in itself.
HelloFresh New Zealand has launched a limited-edition Country Cookout Box of Southern-inspired meals, arriving as the 2026/27 rodeo season gets underway.
The company said country music and culture are reaching a new generation of New Zealand fans. Two dedicated country music radio stations launched in New Zealand in 2025, and major international artists have played to large Kiwi crowds.
HelloFresh pointed to the local scene as well. The 2025 NZ Gold Guitar Awards attracted a record 829 entries, with organisers reporting particularly strong growth among teenage entrants. Tussock Country recorded a 26% year-on-year increase in attendances in 2025.
The menu features Southern-inspired recipes described by HelloFresh as smoky, sticky and satisfying:
Hannah Gilbert, head of culinary at HelloFresh New Zealand, said the company wanted to offer something different at dinnertime.
“We wanted Country Cookout to give Kiwis something a little different at dinnertime – big, bold flavours that are fun to eat but still easy to pull together,” she said.
She said the recipes draw on flavours associated with Southern-style cooking and are designed to be simple to make at home.
“It’s an easy way to shake up the usual midweek dinner without adding more work to the evening,” she said.
The Country Cookout Box is available to order until 3 November 2026 through hellofresh.co.nz.
