New faces at Farmax

Customers of pastoral science company Farmax will get to meet another new face as 28-year-old Victoria Hamlin from Central Hawke’s Bay joins the technical specialist team.

Hamlin joins another new recruit in UK-born Poppy Frater, who started with Farmax at the start of June, as outgoing specialists Steven Howarth and Matt Pilkington leave to pursue other industry roles.

Hamlin started with Farmax on Monday, June 8, and will take on some key account management work, as well as technical support for Farmax clients.

She comes from Beef + Lamb NZ in Wellington where she was employed as a farm programme coordinator.

Hamlin says she was looking for a change and to gain experience with a commercial organisation. She is looking forward to meeting customers at what is an exciting time for the company.

“I had worked with Farmax in my previous role and thought it was a really innovative and exciting company with a great product and team culture,” she says.

Having grown up on a sheep and beef farm in Central Hawke’s Bay, Hamlin went on to study at Victoria University and took up her first job with the Animal Health Board (now OSPRI), before starting at Beef + Lamb.

Farmax general manager Gavin McEwen says that while it is sad to see Howard and Pilkington leave the company and that their skills will be missed, it is great for the company to attract new team members with such excellent experience and enthusiasm.

“Farmax has some very exciting developments coming up that will deliver significant benefits to our customers and the industry,” he says.
