Summer show entries open

Written by

PREPARATION FOR Whangarei’s A&P Annual Summer Show has begun.  Entries are now open for all livestock and equestrian classes, and bookings are being taken for trade sites.  Information, schedules and entry forms are available on line at www.summershow.co.nz

The Summer Show is being held on December 8-9. Admission will again be $5.

The region’s top equestrian and livestock competitors will battle for a slice of the $33,000 prize money available.  There are 630 classes to enter so there is something for everyone – from calf club and best dressed lambs and goats to the prestigious Sloan Bros Memorial Jump for horses and the longstanding ‘best of beef’ Meat and Wool Cup.

Over 2,300 red, blue, yellow, green and orange satin ribbons are awaiting presentation and a top line up of judges from as far away as Timaru and Christchurch in the South and Masterton and Carterton in the North are ready and set to cast their expert eyes over the best livestock and competitors in the region.

Entry forms and more information can be found by checking out the Society’s website www.summershow.co.nz; or by telephoning Whangarei Agricultural & Pastoral Society on (09) 438 3109 or call into the office at 127 Bank Street, Whangarei.

Livestock and equestrian entries close November 16.
