Milking it?

Written by  The Hound

OPINION: A mate of yours truly reckons that ACT agriculture spokesman Mark Cameron may be overdoing his 'I'm a farmer' schtick a little bit too much.

In every press release or statement made by Cameron there is always a reference of him being a "Ruawai dairy farmer."

As the Hound's mate points out, Cameron is currently a fulltime MP earning in excess of $180k a year and if he is still farming then he is not doing his taxpayer funded job properly.

He also reckons - rather facetiously - that Cameron's constant reference to himself as a "farmer" would be a bit like National leader Chris Luxon continuously saying he is "Air NZ's chief executive" (whoops) or PM Jacinda Ardern declaring that she is a "Morrinsville fish and chip wrapper" every time she makes a public utterance.

Take a hint Mr Cameron and give it a rest!

Mixed legacy

OPINION: You're never as good as when you're dead, and with due respect to Theo Spierings' family, the Hound can't let the death of the former Fonterra CEO pass without mentioning the parlous state he left Fonterra in when he exited in 2018 - having pocketed well north of $30 million over seven years.

Dead in the water

OPINION: In a victory for common sense over virtue signalling, David Parker's National Policy Statement (NPS) work on freshwater is now dead in the water.
