THIS OLD mutt reckons the muppets who proposed the ill-fated ‘fart tax’ a few years ago may have had health and safety issues in mind, rather than just saving the planet.

German news media report that methane gas from 90 flatulent cows exploded in a German farm shed, damaging the roof and injuring one animal. Police said high levels of the gas had built up in the structure in the central German town of Rasdorf, then “a static electric charge caused the gas to explode with flashes of flames”. Apparently, one cow was treated for burns, a police spokesman said.

As Stuff notes, “It wasn’t the Playboy cover which caused offence. No, it was the back page which… featured an advert for a cigarette brand”.

As Regulations Minister David Seymour notes, “The real scandal here is, well, no wonder we’ve got problems in healthcare when they’re doing the Stuff quiz during work time.”
