Canterbury farmer Andy Macfarlane has been appointed to the board of AgriZeroNZ, the public-private partnership designed to accelerate the development and deployment of emissions reduction tools for New Zealand farmers.
Rob Hewett, chair of AgriZeroNZ's board, says he welcomes Macfarlane, adding that he brings a combination of governance expertise, commercial acumen and hands-on farming experience.
“Andy’s experience across a range of farming systems and value chains, combined with his commercial pragmatism and ability to connect market signals with on-farm decision-making will be of immense benefit to AgriZeroNZ and the work we are doing for farmers across New Zealand," Hewett says.
For Taupiri dairy farmers Logan and Sian Dawson, their involvement in the NZ Dairy Industry Awards has been a key catalyst in the growth of their business - the experience helping shape how they approach the farm ownership pathway they are pursuing today.
