OPINION: All eyes are on the Government as Waikato farmers seek urgent help to fend off the controversial Plan Change 1 (PC1), designed to manage nutrient discharges into waterways in the region.
While Prime Minister Christopher Luxon and his ministers have signalled that they will intervene, farmers want action.
Waikato farmers say it makes little sense to continue with PC1 while the Government is reforming the resource management system.
The National/ACT/NZ First coalition has reversed many regulations, introduced by the previous Labour Government. But PC1 is a big one and farmers will be anxious to see how the politicians handle this one with a general election just months away.
