PM Chris Luxon can't seem to buy a trick when it comes to the polls, particularly for his own approval rating as preferred Prime Minister.

As the late Jim Bolger famously said, "bugger the polls!"

However, the media love to make a headline out of every fractional movement in the polls, even when the shift is well below the margin of error, and it is election year.

So, Milking It recommends Luxo takes a leaf out of Trump's playbook - just make up your own poll numbers!

Official polls have Trump's approval rating as low as 33%, but without referencing any poll, he claimed his ratings were "THE HIGHEST EVER!" Then on June 26 he made up an approval rating of "50%". He then bumped it up 15 points, claiming "other polls" have him at 65%!
