Speaking at the Women in Wine Connect gathering held during New Zealand Wine 2026, she said that pairing became more intentional during Covid-19, when she had more time to consider the matches.
One thing led to another and in 2024 she launched an online membership for Novel Pairings, which provides members with the name of a book along with some paired wine options.
"I realised what people really want out of a wine and book club is community," she said.
There's no perfect pairing, "other than that you like the book and you like the wine", Erin told the gathering.
"It's been the most fulfilling thing I've ever done."
