Truth Is Out

Written by  The Hound

OPINION: It's been an eye-opener watching the big media companies behaving exactly like the powers-that-be who the crusading hacks from the likes of One News and Stuff claim to be "keeping honest".

Keeping a story quiet to protect one of their story (former One News political editor Maiki Sherman), using heavyweight lawyers to silence any media thinking about stepping out of line and breaking the story, then, once an outsider finally broke the story, 'bravely' copying that blogger's story and running all its gory details - ironically leading to the 'cancellation' of a reporter who has led the change on many a pile-on in the past.

Your old mate hears though that the real reason media kept the Sherman story quiet for a year is that they didn't want to lose access to free booze-ups in ministerial offices!

Pigs Flew

OPINION: On the same day that pigs were reportedly seen airborne over the capital, a political journalist gave the PSA union a chip for being biased towards Labour – not the revelation of the year if you ask the Canine Crusader, but very rare to hear coming from a member of the press gallery.

Inconvenient Truths

OPINION: Media trust has tanked because of what media's more woke members do and say.

Bias Blowback

OPINION: It's no surprise to this old mutt that some politicians are done playing nice with the low rent media pack that hounds them looking for a 'gotcha' moment.

Peasants' revolt

OPINION: Media luvvies at Stuff, the Spinoff and the Granny Herald are spending more time than ever navel-gazing about why the peasants outside of their cosy little bubble no longer trust them.

Double standards

OPINION: Imagine if the Hound had called the Minister of Finance the 'c-word' and accused her of "girl math".
