Puddle deep

Written by

A FRIEND of The Hound’s reckons farmer shareholders in Fonterra should – like this old mutt – be shaking their heads in disbelief at the seriously shallow talent pool in this year’s director elections.

It’s a fair bet that of the three vacancies available, two current sitting directors Malcolm Bailey and Ian Farrally will be returned. This means the one seat up for grabs – held by former chair Sir Henry van der Heyden – is going to be won by either Michael Spaans, Donna Smit or Eric Ray, all of whom were rejected by voters last year.
