PM opens new Power Farming facility
Morrinsville based Power Farming Group has launched a flagship New Zealand facility in partnership with global construction manufacturer JCB Construction.
Distributed by Power Farming, Kverneland’s latest arrival here is the KV 9590 Hydro, with key features which make the machine more durable and help operators save time in a busy period.
A newly designed frame carries two 3.85m diameter rotors which achieve an adjustable clearing width of 8-9m and a hydraulically adjustable swath width of 1.2-2.2m for a perfect feed to balers, harvesters and wagons.
A clever design sees the rear axles of the machine having the ability to ‘lower’ by up to 50cm, which has the advantage of giving the machine a sub-4m transport height without the need to remove tine arms. This lowered centre of gravity has additional benefits: improved comfort and safety on the road and greater machine stability when moving between paddocks.
An active rear wheel steering system ensures the machine tracks the pulling tractor by allowing up to 80 degrees of wheel movement, so it should prove useful in small or irregular shaped paddocks.
The machine also features the Pro-Line drive system with rotor gearboxes using fully enclosed, oil immersed crown wheel and pinions lubricated in all conditions and maintenance-free.
Beneath the rotor gearboxes, 400mm diameter, hardened steel cam tracks offer smooth control of the tine arms for a gentle action on the crop, and extended resistance to wear and tear. Bi-tangential tine arms use Super-G tines to gently sweep the crop into the swath; these can be quickly replaced if they suffer any impact damage.
Contour following is by the aptly named Terra Link Quattro system which can act in three dimensions to ensure accurate tine control and minimal soil contamination. Each rotor uses six wheels for support, with the front items are mounted with swivels to allow the machine to operate through curves and corners.
Rear wheel equipment on the chassis takes the shape of 380mm tyres, helping with weight distribution and machine stability.
All functions can also be activated from the cabin to save extra minutes during the day, and that same control allows single or dual lift rotor control for small or awkward shaped paddocks.
