The winners of the annual New Zealand Fencing Competition (NZFC) held annually at Fieldays were announced last week after a fierce battle between competitors from across New Zealand.

Reigning champion Tony Bouskill took out the Golden Pliers by WIREMARK Singles Championship for the fourth year running.

Bouskill also won the Fieldays Silver Spades Doubles Championship with his father Shane, showing great teamwork and dedication to the job at hand.

It’s not the first time the pair has won the championship, having competed and won the same award three times previously, in 2017, 2019 and 2021.

Meanwhile, Sander Visser took out the Bill Schuler competition. The competition was named after Waikato-born fencer Bill Schuler who passed away in 2018.

The Fieldays competition is organised and run by NZFC.
