The latest Northland research will be showcased at the BNZ Northland Dairy Development Trust's annual conference in Whangarei on February 11, 2015.
The annual conference will feature dairy industry leaders including Fonterra chairman John Wilson.
Chair of the Northland Dairy Development Trust, Penny Smart, is hoping for a strong turn-out.
"The Trust is looking forward to providing farmers with the opportunity to listen to industry leaders and get updated on current and future trial work at the Northland Agricultural Research Farm," says Smart.
She believes the continuation and support of the Northland Dairy Development Trust is crucial to the research and demonstration of better farming practices in Northland.
"The Trust are committed to working with farmers, industry and valued sponsors to lift the profit margins for all Northland dairy farmers," she says.
The day will start with key note speakers, including Fonterra chairman John Wilson and well known farming personality Doug Avery, who will talk about his journey through depression and how he learned to manage his life and develop resilience. He will discuss how to be, 'happy no matter what. Resilience in farming is about being happy, in control and enabled.'
The latest research findings from the Northland Agricultural Research Farm and information from DairyNZ on how to prepare for the new health and safety laws, soon to be enforced on-farm, will also be presented.
Meanwhile, BNZ will be providing tips on how to cope during a low payout in their 'Keeping Afloat in a Tight Financial Year' presentation.
Conference organisers urge farmers to book the date in their calendar.
