Courage to dangle?

When the Shanghai Stock Exchange plunged last month, Chinese authorities moved quickly to suspend trade.

With Fonterra’s Global Dairy Trade auction suffering 10 straight price drops some industry leaders are calling for similar radical action in the hope this would arrest the decline in prices.

It might work but the damage to GDT’s reputation as the global benchmark for dairy prices would be tarnished. Are Fonterra directors bold enough for such a move?
