French manufacturer Pichon has expanded its SV slurry tanker range with the launch of two new models.
The new 10,500-litre SV10R and 14,500-litre SV14 machines are be aimed at farmers and contractors typically operating in hilly areas or over difficult terrain.
The SV range can be configured with different equipment, depending on the user’s requirements, with the option to upgrade machines over time. Pichon has also incorporated several improvements across the range, including a standardised level gauge that replaces the previous glass-tube indicator, MITAS tyre options and an optional side-mounted filling accelerator that can mounted to either the left- or right-hand side of the tanker.
Taking up a position between the SV8R and SV12R, the 10,500-litre SV10R has been designed as a more compact option for farms with restricted access. It’s 5.3m wheelbase compares with a 6.3m measurement on the SV12R, while axle track widths can be specified in 1.80m and 2.15m settings, helping users to deal with difficult access situations.
Able to accommodate wheel and tyre combinations of up to 38-inch diameter, application equipment options include TSB1 trailing shoe booms, 12m TSB2 trailing shoe booms and 9m DHB1 dribble bar booms, depending on the overall configuration.
The tanker also features Pichon’s new H2L dual-line braking configuration, which has been approved for the French and wider global markets.
The new, 14,500-litre SV14 sits between the existing SV13 and SV16 and is aimed at farms operating tractors below 150hp, with a choice of three tank configurations, depending on the filling system, with customers offered the choice of a BP2 filling arm, dipping arm or turret arm.
The SV14 uses the same tank diameter as the SV16, alongside a BPW tandem axle shared with the SV13 and SV16.
Application options include TSB trailing shoe booms, DHB dribble bars, IDS disc injectors or CTF incorporators.
A company spokesperson said: “The SV10R meets the need for greater compactness and manoeuvrability, particularly in areas with difficult access, while the SV14 offers an excellent balance between capacity, versatility and power requirements.”
