Dairy industry’s big night looms

Written by

The gumboots have been put away and the shoes have been shined in anticipation of the dairy industry’s most prestigious awards event, happening this Saturday in Invercargill.

The National winners of the New Zealand Dairy Industry Awards will be announced at a glittering event at the ILC Stadium, with the who’s who of the dairy industry making the trip south to hear the winner’s announced.

The National Awards will be hosted for the seventh consecutive year by Newshub anchor Mike McRoberts, wholoves the awards and the pride and passion shown by the finalists.

“From the bottom of the country to the top they're there because they're the best in the business and very much the future of the industry,” says Roberts.

Awards general Manager Chris Keeping says the event is the culmination of months of hard work by the entrants, judges and committee volunteers from 11 different regions through-out New Zealand.

“Our judges have commented on the high calibre of this year’s entrants, and we are looking forward to celebrating with the winners on the night.”

“It’s always wonderful to see the support given to all the entrants from their family, friends, work colleagues and farm owners.  We are also grateful for the support of our national sponsors and the evening is a way of saying thank you to them also.

The New Zealand Dairy Industry Awards are supported by national sponsors Westpac, DairyNZ, DeLaval, Ecolab, Federated Farmers, Fonterra Farm Source, Honda Motorcycles, LIC, Meridian Energy, and Ravensdown, along with industry partner Primary ITO.
