Done deal

Written by  The Hound

OPINION: This old mutt continues to be flabbergasted by the sheer audacity and mendacious behaviour of the current inhabitants of the Beehive.

Take for instance the Government's claim that it is still working with local communities and councils on its proposed 3 Waters reforms.

One would think this might actually mean it is still listening to local communities and taking on board their concerns before pressing ahead with any reforms.

Don't be silly!

A recent ad on the Seek website promoted a very highly-paid role for 'Head of Communications, Three Waters Programme'.

The ad said one of the key parts of this new job was to, "advance the Government's reform objectives in a way that supports successful adoption of the reforms..."

It reminds yours truly of that old saying: How can you tell when a politician is lying? Answer - their lips are moving!

About time!

OPINION: Finally, the jackboot of State will be lifted from the throat of those trying to grow the economy.

'Terrible idea'

OPINION: With media putting so much effort into covering the issue of children not really liking the school lunch they never asked for in the first place, it's understandable they've paid little if any attention to the looming threat to the NZ economy - bird flu.

Dodgy!

OPINION: If you believe Maori Party president John Tamihere’s claim that “nothing dodgy” occurred at Manurewa Marae during the last election, the Hound has a bridge to sell you.

Oblivious

OPINION: Despite clear and negative feedback from the peasantry, the mainstream media have decided that their excrement doesn’t stink and they’re going to continue riding their moral high horse into oblivion.

Non, Paris!

OPINION: Critics of NZ’s commitment to the Paris Accord, such as Groundswell and others, continue to push for an exemption for ag, arguing that the threat of trade retaliation is more hypothetical than real.
