CB Norwood Distributors says despite the large working width (4.5m) of its Fella mower, the machine’s centre mowing unit – attached right at the rig’s centre of gravity – enables it to adapt nicely to ground contours. The key to this is the maker’s TurboLift system that relieves the hydro-pneumatic load on the cutter bar.
This system uses an innovative control device to enable adjustments to the contact pressure to be made quickly, simply and without tools. In addition, the system is automatically calibrated at every headland and, as a result, any undesired change to ground contact pressure is immediately corrected.
The floating cut suits the cutter bar well to a huge range of operating conditions, CB Norwood says.
“The easy-to-use reduction of the contact pressure when passing through damp or wet areas prevents the forage from becoming contaminated and ensures the sward remains undamaged. In addition, the frame structure and the skids carry less load, meaning less wear and drag resistance reducing tractor fuel consumption.”
