A number of farming organisations in Wellington have been affected by the earthquake.

The building which houses Federated Farmers and Beef+LambNZ has been closed until it has been inspected and cleared by an engineer. It is not known when this will be done.

The closure of the building could affect the Feds National Council meeting which was due to be held there tomorrow; a decision on this is expected later today.

Horticulture New Zealand’s offices which are also in Featherston St have also been closed today; subject to clearance by a structural engineer.
