Tyre maker BKT and its NZ distributor TRS Tyre and Wheel again ran their Balls for Charity fundraiser at Fieldays.

TRS donated 4000 BKT-branded rugby and soccer balls, offered to Fieldays goers for a gold coin donation, with all proceeds going to Hospice Waikato.

The fundraiser was a winner, says Nikki Watson, marketing manager for TRS.

“Most people seem to have used hospice services or know of someone who has, so visitors to our site were happy to donate to such a worthy cause.”

Hospice Waikato, part-funded by Waikato District Health Board, needs to raise $3 million per year from the community, says the chief executive of Hospice Waikato.

“We appreciate the support of BKT and TRS say a big ‘thank you’ to them for choosing us as their charity of choice at Fieldays.

“Their generosity allows us to continue providing specialist palliative care in Waikato region.”
