Shameful

Written by

A mate of the Hound reckons a certain high-profile director of one of the country's big meat co-ops and recent addition to the board of a NZ wool company is living up the mantra of: "Do as I say, not as I do."

One would have thought that this person would be a big supporter and staunch advocate of NZ wool - especially given he is a director of a woll company and the meat co-op he's a director of is behind the recent push to revive NZ wool through the Strong Wool Action Group.

However, rumour has it our anti-hero's holuday home in the South Island (nice what director fees can buy you these days) has just been re-carpeted with synthetic flooring!

Apparently, the wool option was "just too expensive".

Wow... As the Hound's mate says: "What a kick in the guts for the country's struggling wool producers".

Silver Thin Farms

OPINION: The Hound hears that tension was in the air at the recent Silver Fern Farms AGM, with the board reportedly dazed and confused at why their CEO would continue to hammer farmers to lower their emissions in perpetuity, without being able to state a dollar value for any of the touted premiums.

Bugs for lunch

OPINION: The ongoing saga of the quality of school lunches continues.

Double standards

OPINION: Imagine if the Hound had called the Minister of Finance the 'c-word' and accused her of "girl math".
