The latest offerings from some of Europe's leading farm machinery manufacturers will be on show at the New Zealand National Fieldays.
CLAAS, JCB, AMAZONE, Fliegl, Grégoire Besson, GRIMME and Trioliet machinery and products will be at the CLAAS Harvest Centre display situated at stand no.M52-58
Several machines will make their debut including the JCB 516-40 Loadall, a compact telehandler that delivers high levels of performance, efficiency, manoeuvrability and comfort within confined spaces. Boasting a list of features normally only found on larger models, including four wheel drive, all wheel steering and a variable transmission, in a compact package measuring 1.8m high and 1.56m wide. The machine has the ability to lift 1600 kg to a maximum height of 4m, and offers a 1000 kg capacity at a forward reach of 2 metres.This model should find immediate appeal with poultry farms or horticultural enterprises where operating areas are restricted or on dairy farms that don't require the extra lifting capacity or height of larger Loadall models.
Also making its debut will be the new range of AMAZONE ZA-V linkage-mounted fertiliser spreaders, available in a range of sizes and configurations from 1700 to 4200 litres, and offering features all of the precision and innovation, including automatic calibration, found in larger AMAZONE spreaders. The machine has a working width of 36 metres and can be operated at up to 30 kph, and is said to be capable of delivering high end performance for mid-sized operations.
Those looking at the rapidly emerging fodder beet arena will be able to inspect the massive GRIMME Rootster 604 trailed harvester, which allows one-pass lifting and cleaning of fodder beet. "There is huge potential for more beet to be grown in the North Island, where the growing season will allow even higher dry matter yields," Roger Nehoff , General Manager NZ Retail says. "Some believe beet has the capacity to replace maize silage as it is higher yielding, cheaper to grow, easier to store and is better utilised by livestock."
A number of specialist agricultural trailers from leading German manufacturer, Fliegl, including three-way tipping trailers and 'push-off' trailers, will also be on display, and offer the perfect partnership for CLAAS fodder harvesting technology, combining high capacity with rapid unloading of silage, as well as the ability to be used as chaser bins, compost spreaders or for transporting bulk materials.
Feeding technology is showcase with the Trioliet Solomix ZK1-1400 mixer wagon, a single vertical auger with a capacity of about 14 cubic metres, and offering the ability to incorporate all the feed ingredients into a single ration so there is less wastage and less opportunity for cows to separate and reject ingredients

As usual, the CLAAS Harvest Centre site will showcase a complete line-up of forage harvesting technology from CLAAS, including a top-of-the-line JAGUAR 980 forage harvester, DISCO mowers and mower-conditioners, VOLTO tedders, LINER rakes and CARGOS compact dual-purpose loader/transport wagons.These will be complimented by a comprehensive line-up of CLAAS advanced technology tractors from across the AXION, ARION and AXOS series.Offering more than 30 different models from 75 to 524 hp, a choice of continuously variable or powershift transmissions, four-point cabin suspension and cutting-edge on-board technology as standard, the distributor claims that they are arguably the most advanced, versatile and comfortable mid-range tractors on the market.
