Marooned cows inspire quake relief pic

The eye-catching images of cows stranded by the Kaikoura earthquake went worldwide, prompting as many headlines as the quake itself.

Now a Kiwi artist is transforming the image to raise money for the relief effort. Becca Aiken drew an A3 sketch of the cows and is selling it on TradeMe. The money will go to the Red Cross earthquake fund. “I saw that all over social media and international news the cow pictures were going off,” Aiken said. “There is some humour in it, but I have taken to the more serious side of it all.”
