Does anyone in the Government understand the essential role St John Ambulance has in our society?

There has been a lot of Government support during the Covid-19 crisis for struggling businesses, even $10million for a bungee jumping outfit and $72 million to the racing industry, not to mention a $3 million loan to Team NZ, much of which they promptly handed over to a Hungarian scammer, if reports are to be believed.

Yet everyone is happy to stand and watch St John cut 100 jobs in a bid to save $30 million. Its financial issues haves worsened during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Surely, someone in government thinks St John plays an essential role and should be thrown a $30m lifeline.
