Bye bye Paris?

Written by  Milking It

OPINION: At its recent annual general meeting, Federated Farmers’ Auckland province called for New Zealand to withdraw from the Paris Agreement on Climate Change.

A remit has passed and is heading for the Feds’ annual conference in Christchurch next week.

Milking It understands other provinces are also sending similar remits to the conference. Should the Feds adopt a remit for NZ to withdraw from the Paris Agreement? Where will that put dairy farmers’ levy-paying organisation DairyNZ?

Two of the industry-good body’s directors are Feds stalwarts. Will they be pushing for DairyNZ to take a similar stance?
