New Federated Farmers meat and wool chair praises predecessor
Newly elected Federated Farmers meat and wool group chair Richard Dawkins says he will continue the great work done his predecessor Toby Williams.
Sharemilkers are 'engaged' or contracted by the farm owner to run their farm and the change better reflects the relationship between the farm owner and the sharemilker, as sharemilkers are not employees.
Federated Farmers' Sharemilker Farm Owners' Section chairperson Tony Wilding says both the Sharemilkers and Farm Owners' Sections have recognised that the number of contract milkers out there is increasing and the issues to do with contract milking are similar to sharemilking.
With that in mind, farm owners who engage contract milkers can come to the Sharemilker Farm Owners' Section for advice.
This is in line with the Sharemilkers' Section, which now also supports contract milkers.
